Telephone Network

Telephone Network “KANCOM” has been built on the basis of KANCOM’s own fiber optic SDH and Gigabit Ethernet Networks using TDM and IP technologies.

For operator switch equipment, we used first-in-Ukraine most advanced combined software-hardware switch (SURPASS hiE 9200 S3.0 type, produced by Siemens), which was connected to the Public Switched Telephone Network via four transit exchanges and the long-distance / international exchange owned by OJSC Ukrtelecom. The telephone network “KANCOM” uses state-of-the-art switch equipment produced by Siemens and Ericsson that is installed at separate sites of KANCOM and in premises of its subscribers.

An inherent distinct feature of the Telephone Network “KANCOM”, distinguishing it from networks of other telephony operators, is the fact that access to each telephone subscriber of KANCOM is provided by fiber optic rather than copper communication cable, which results in a significant improvement of quality and reliability of telephone communications.

Telephone Network “KANCOM” has the tendency to continuous expansion and increasing the number of its telephone subscribers, in particular, the National Communications Regulatory Commission of Ukraine granted to LLP KANCOM the Permit on the use of additional number resource having capacity of 10000 phone numbers with indices 371xxxx in the city of Kyiv.

    Ethernet Network

Gigabit Ethernet Technology is a next evolutionary stage in the development of packet–switched data transmission sector featuring cost-efficiency and compliance to the requirements of modern life.

KANCOM’s Gigabit Ethernet Network has been built on the basis of flexible switches produced by Cisco and interlinked by fiber optic modules at transmission speeds of 1 and 10 Gbit/s. It enables us to transmit data between the agreed number of points with the guaranteed speed on port of 10/100/1000 Mbit/s using VLAN (virtual local area network), yielding high efficiency, speed, and operation flexibility at low costs for the customer.

Given the high capacity of the Gigabit Ethernet Network, you will have additional opportunities to organize centralized video surveillance systems, videoconferences, corporate ІР-telephony, and even corporate television.

This service is designed to accomplish the following tasks:

  • Integration of segments of distributed corporate networks;

  • Integrated transmission of data, voice, and video;

  • Organization of access to carriers’ networks, on-line trade sites, databases, and other network information resources.

        Last Mile

The Network used for providing customers with access to the backbone network, also known as “Last Mile”, is constructed on the basis of state-of-the-art technologies. The application of fiber optic communication lines only is an intrinsic feature of KANCOM’s Access Network.

At present, KANCOM’s Last Mile covers practically the entire territory of Kyiv. This makes the services of KANCOM accessible to a great variety of customers in all main districts of the city and enables us to reduce the cost of services provided by the company.

Making every effort to constantly refine and develop its Network and improve the quality of services provided to the customers, KANCOM introduces the advanced technology of “the last mile”, in particular PON and WDM means. It enables us to increase the capacity of channels provided to corporate customers and at the same time minimizes the costs.
