   History of the company

The Ukrainian-American-Swiss Limited Liability Partnership “Kancom” was founded on 12 July 1993. At the time of its creation the participants of LLP “KANCOM” were:

State Property Fund of Ukraine acting in the interests of the Kyiv Metropolitan (55 percent of the Charter Fund);

Andrew Corporation (USA) (45 percent of the Charter Fund).

The beginning of construction and development of Ukraine as an independent state and introduction of reforms aimed at stimulating the market economy in the young state encouraged our founders to create the Company.

| As a result, KANCOM:

• was first among the communications carriers to build its own fiber optic network and begin providing appropriate services;
• was first to introduce the technology for creating a telecommunications network using tunnels and constructions of the Metropolitan that are securely protected from external tampering;
• was the first company in Ukraine to create an extensive multiple-service fiber optic communications network based on the modern SDH technology.

| 1995

• Fiber optic network “KANCOM” was put into operation.

| 1997

• Beginning of the construction of the “last mile” – fiber optic access network.

| 1998

• State-of-the-art digital telephone exchange was put into operation for providing services with the use of ISDN PRI ports.

| 1999

•       Earth satellite communication station was connected to “KANCOM” Network;
•       KANCOM is an “officially registered organization acting in the field of telecommunications” (ОROT) in the INTELSAT system

| 2000

•       KANCOM was registered as LIR (local internet registry) in the Reseaux IP Europeens Network Coordination Center (RIPE NCC); (LIR status ensures the right to obtain a required unique block of allocated IP-addresses)
•       KANCOM becomes a participant of the Ukrainian Internet-Traffic Exchange Network (UA-IX) via an access channel to the service access point of 100 Mbit/s and its possible expansion to 1 Gbit/s.

| 2001

• KANCOM organizes services for transmission of studio-quality audio and TV signals on the basis of its own fiber optic network.

| 2002

• Fiber optic SDH backbone and the “last mile” (its access network) solidly covering all the districts of the city of Kyiv;

• Construction and commissioning of the Gigabit Ethernet Network;
• Putting into operation of the Network of coin payphones ROTOR 2000.

| 2003

• Installation and commissioning of a great number of payphones and cash machines at the stations and entrance halls of the Kyiv Metropolitan.

| 2004

• given the continuous expansion of the access network, an electronic system of accounting and analytical analysis of the access network was created;
• capacity of the external Internet channel was increased to 7 Mbit/s;
• complex insurance system was introduced covering the property, financial risks of the company and insurance of its responsibility as an employer;
• medical insurance program for all employees of the company was implemented.

| 2005

• capacity of the external Internet channel was increased to 12 Mbit/s;
• speed of the access channel to the Point of the Ukrainian Internet-Traffic Exchange Network (UA-IX) was raised to 1 Gigabit/s;
• upgrading of the SDH-Network by installation and putting into operation of 4 AM-S multiplexers of STM-1 level produced by “Lucent Technologies” and 2 AMU multiplexers of STM-1/4 level;
• creation of the third ring of the backbone SDH-Network;
• putting into operation of 13 new payphones.

| 2006

• capacity of the external Internet channel was increased to 20 Mbit/s;
• upgrading of the SDH-Network by installation and putting into operation of 6 AM-S multiplexers of STM-1/4 level produced by “Lucent Technologies”

| 2007

• transmission capacity of the external Internet channel was increased up to 30 Mbp/s;
• access speed of the Center of Ukrainian Internet-traffic exchange (UA-IX) was increased up to 10 Gigabp/s;
• SDH-Network modernization was carried out: AM-S and STM-16 multiplexers produced by Lucent Technologies were put into operation;
• Gigabit Ethernet-network was expanded from 1 Gigabp/s to 10 Gigabp/s

| 2008

• transmission capacity of the external Internet – channel was increased up to 50 Mbps;
• works on transition of SDH-Network from STM-1 (155 Mbp/s) to STM-16 (2.4 Gigabp/s) were carried out during the network operation without interrupting the traffic of connected customers;
• central switch of Ethernet-network was changed for CISCO CATALYST 6509, expanding the network capacity up to 10 Gigabp/s;
• during 2008 Last Mile modification continued. New equipment produced by CTC Corporation was implemented. This enabled the company to substitute the morally obsolete equipment for the upgraded one and release optic fiber in the network using CWDM technology.

| 2009

• Total length of KANCOM fiber-optic network reached 730.307 km.
• SDH network modernization was completed and STM-16 (2.4 Gigabps) was put into operation using CWDM technology.
• Kancom ATX SURPASS hiE 9200 was re-programmed and appropriate works on transition to a new system of numbers in Ukraine were carried out.
• For the purpose of control over the correctness of settlements with the customers of telephone communication services the metrological verification of ATX SURPASS hiE 9200 billing system was carried out
• LANBilling system produced by the company “Network solutions” (Russia) for accounting Internet and telephone communication services was implemented.
• As of the end of the year 2009 Kancom had three external channels 50 Mbps each and 1 Gigabps channel with the Ukrainian IP-traffic exchange network (UA-IX).
• We purchased interface processor SIP-400 produced by Cisco Systems Inc. to expand Internet network.

| 2010

• Total length of KANCOM fiber-optic network reached 742.43 km.
• As of December 2010 2013 telephone numbers from the number resource of 11 000 telephone numbers with indexes 5369ххх and 371хххх are assigned to the customers of the city of Kyiv and 36 pay-phones at the stations and passages of Kyiv metropolitan are maintained.
• Kancom has three external channels 50 Mbps each and 1 Gigabps channel with the Ukrainian IP-traffic exchange network (UA-IX).
• LLP KANCOM started providing telecommunications services in the city of Rivne.
• We elaborated a special web-site for our customers https://status.kancom.kiev.ua, which enables them to obtain on-line financial information, namely to know the total amount due for the telecommunications services provided and print out the VAT documents.

| 2011

• Total length of KANCOM fiber-optic network achieved 761.864 km.
• The National Commission of Communication Regulation of Ukraine, a state regulatory authority, carried out an audit of activities of LLP Kancom as a telecommunication carrier. No claims to the organization of Kancom activities in the telecommunications sector were made. The telecom services are provided in compliance with the applicable regulations of Ukraine and appropriate licenses.
• The annual metrological testing of the automated billing system of Kancom SURPASS hiE 9200 was carried out.
• Kancom signed general agreements for telecommunication services provision and building of telephone networks in a new business center “Crystal” on 175-177, Khrakivske highway in Kyiv and in residential complexes “Novoseltsevo” in Chubynske village of Brovary district of Kyiv region and “RiverStone” on 14, Dniprovska naberezhna in Kyiv.
• On October 12, 2011 Kancom obtained a license for business activities associated with creation of architectural objects according to the list (design of architectural objects, construction and installation works, installation of utilities and engineering activity in the building sector) issued by the State Architectural and Constructional Inspection of Ukraine.

| 2012

• In total 48 650 m of the fiber-optic network were laid out during the year.
• 11 high potential start up programs (complex service system based on “One-Stop-Shopping” principle) were implemented. Among them there are such objects as TEC “RayON”, Housing complex located at 3, Ovanesa Tumaniana str., HC“PecherSKY”, TC “Diamant”, TC “Poliarny”.
• General Agreements for construction of internal telecommunications network were concluded to provide telecom services to the customers of Housing complex located at 43, Gogolivska str. and TOC “Silver Breeze” located at 1, Dniprovska naberezhna str
• On February 08, 2012 we obtained a license for provision of services on maintenance and operation of telecom networks on the territory of Chubynske village of Boryspil district of Kyiv region issued by the National commission of communication and information regulation.
• Verification of the points of presence and maintenance of the backbone equipment was carried out in the Kyiv metropolitan. Measures of electric parameters of power supply and grounding devices were taken and charts of power supply equipment were specified.
• Kancom carried out examination of insulation resistance of wires and cables of the power system, automatic electrical disconnectors and chain resistance between the grounding device and the grounded electronic equipment at the transit exchanges of the public telephone network, where KANCOM telecommunications equipment is installed.
• During the elections 2012 TV signal transmission was arranged from the Central Election Commission of Ukraine.
